D'YOU THINK THAT'S FUNNY?

There has always been the naughty schoolboy side to my work – often running just below the surface, waiting to break out. When I was young trips to the seaside were always brightened by the purchase of a Donald McGill naughty postcard or two. That sort of

smutty humour was very much a thing of its day (rather like Carry On films and Up Pompeii…):  totally non-PC and offending almost every modern sensibility – they were once, however, the bedrock of English humour. Though this sort of thing is long gone (other than in nostalgic Facebook Groups) they somehow they seem to have left an indelible mark on my outlook….
